Black night Shade is a common Herb. It can be found in all parts of south India. Tamil name is “Manathakkali keerai”. It has so much of health benefits.

Wonder Berry Leaves – 1 cup
Asafoetida powder- 1 pinch
Red chilli – 1
Green chilli -2
whole Pepper- 5 or 6
Urad dal – 1 tbsp
garlic pods- 5 or 6
small onions – 10
Grated Coconut -1/2 cup
Tamarind – 1 small gooseberry size
Salt- for taste
Oil – 1 tspn
Heat pan and pour one tspn oil
Add 1/4 tspn Asafoetida powder and allow to fry
Add one red chilli and fry well
Add 1 tbsp urad dal and allow to golden fry
After that add whole pepper , garlic pods and green chillies and saute for a minute on a low flame.
add small onions
saute well till the onions are translucent
add cleaned Black night shade leaves and saute well
switch off the stove
Transfer the above ingredients in to a mixie jar
Add half cup grated coconut and tamarind in that
Add needed salt along with that
Grind well using very little water
Transfer in to a serving bowl
Black night shade leaves chutney (thuvaiyal ) is now ready to eat
