Tomato rice with Angayapodi

Usually Angaya Podi is mixed with hot rice and ghee.It has a slightly bitter in taste. So Children May not eat that. sometimes Grown ups 🙂 .So I have decided to make it something Different .Got an idea to mix it with tomato rice .Fortunately It Comes very well.Here is the Recipe.

Ingredients:
Boiled Rice- 1 cup

Tomato-3

Green chilli-1

Jeera – 1/2 tbsp

Mustard Seeds- 1/2 tbsp

asafoetida Powder- 1 pinch

Turmeric Powder- 1 pinch

Red Chilli Powder- 1/2 spoon

Angayapodi (The Secret Ingredient)– 1 spoon

Oil- 2 Tbsp

curry Leaves- 8-10

Salt – for taste

Preparation Method:
Heat the pan and pour gingelly/ seasame oil.

Add pinch of asofoetida powder in that .

Temper mustard seeds and curry leaves.

Put cumin and allow it to fry for few seconds.

Slit the Green Chilli and fry a second.

Add chopped tomatoes and saute well.

Add Turmeric Powder, Red Chilli Powder, Angayapodi powder and fry for 1 minute.

Add salt in this stage.

mix well.

pour 1/2 cup water and close the lid .let the gravy thickens.

After five to ten minutes add boiled rice and mix well with the gravy.

Now the Tomato rice with Angaya podi is ready to eat.

Serve Hot.
