In Nilgiris People used to called this tree tomato as ” tameeta “. Usually American and Mexican people Like this vegetable very much. This vegetable has more vitamin A and Vitamin B-6.
It has very unique & different taste.You Can Have this chutney with Idly/Dhosa or even with Rice.

Tree Tomato-3
Red Chilli-3 or 4
Garlic Cloves- 6
Black Gram- 1 tbsn
Mustard Seeds- 1/2 tbsn
Oil- 1 tbsn
asafetida powder – 1 pinch
Salt – For taste

Preparation Method :

Grill The Tree Tomato.
(For a gas grill, preheat the grill. Reduce heat to medium. Place the Tree Tomato on the grill rack directly over heat. Grill about 8 minutes or until tender, turning occasionally.)

Peel the skin

Heat the pot and pour oil.

Add pinch of asofoetida powder in that.

Temper mustard seeds.

Add Red Chillies & Garlic Cloves and saute For a minute.

Add tender Tree Tomato pulp and mix well.

Allow to cool.

Grind coarsely.

No need to using water while Grinding.
No need to add Tamarind or Ordinary Tomato or Onions.
It will gives you a very different taste along with Mustard seeds and black gram.
