Benefits Of Pomegranate

The pomegranate tastes sweet and tart. Here I have used tart type unripened pomegranate seeds for the dish. You can use ripened tart pomegranate seeds also.Pomegranate is very good food for skin & hair. It has a high Nutritional Value. It improves hemoglobin level.
In South Indian villages people usually make powder from dry pomegranate peels and they use it as a medicine for kids during the time of stomach upset or diarrhea.

Ingredients:
Pomegranate seeds – 1 hand full
Asafoetida powder- 1 pinch
Red chillies – 2
Green chilli -1
Chana dal – 1 tbsp
Urad dal – 1 tbsp
Chopped ginger – 1 tbsp
Curry leaves – 8 to 10
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
Gingelly oil – 1 tbsp
Salt – for taste
Boiled Rice- 1 cup

Preparation Method

Squeeze pomegranate seeds & extract the juice
Heat pan
Pour gingelly oil
Add Asafoetida powder
Add slitted two red chillies & roast the chillies till dark in color
Temper mustard seeds
Add cumin seeds
Fry for few minutes
Add chopped ginger and fry for a minute
Add chana dal & urad dal
Fry till golden brown in color
Add slitted green chilli & curry leaves
Saute well
Add pomegranate juice
Add needed salt
allow to thicknes
Add boiled rice
mix well
Garnish with some pomegranate seeds
