Banana Blossoms are very common in South -Indian cuisine. People will make many recipes using banana blossom. There are so much of health benefits in banana blossom.we have to add banana blossom in our food at least once in a month. It has rich source of Vitamins & Minerals. Manages Diabetes and Anemia. It reduces Menstrual bleeding. So at least girls should have this once in a month for their health benefits.
Vadai /vada is one of the Mouth watering & most important starters in all the South Indian feast Recipes.
Banana Blossom -1 cup (cleaned )
Chana Dal -1 cup
Ginger – 1 inch
Green Chillies – 2
Small Onions- 10-15
Curry Leaves – 10
Salt – For taste
Oil – For Deep fry
Soak Chana Dal in water for one hour.
Chop small onions , curry leaves, and green chillies and keep aside.
Drain the water and add chana dal to grind.
Add Cleaned Banana Blossom in that.
Chop Ginger and add along with that.
Add Needed Salt.
Grind coarsely without adding water.
Transfer in to a dry bowl.
Add Chopped Onions.
Add Chopped Green Chillies.
Add Curry leaves.
Mix well 🙂
Make small patties.
Heat oil to fry.
Drop the patties in oil.
Fry it in a medium flame at least for 5 to 8 minutes.
Fry both sides.
Drain the Golden Crispy vadas
Transfer in to a serving plate.
Serve hot 🙂

In this recipe , you can add fennel seeds , coriander leaves ,mint leaves for extra flavour. But, Personally, I just wanna to feel the aroma and taste of the banana blossom in every bite. So i avoided these items. Also , you can add chopped Ginger directly to that coarsely mixer. It depends upon to your taste. 🙂
